Thinking of dying your hair this Christmas or just wanting to look fabulous during the holidays with beautiful, shiny, and healthy locks? Trend Hotspot personally tried the Eksperience™ and RE/START brands.

If there’s one thing that the pandemic has taught us, it’s that haircare is a luxury. When you start turning into a potato, lounging in your house in pajamas, worrying about your roots showing or whether your hair looks nice is the least of our problems.

But as we slowly move to normalcy, going to the hair salon should be one of your priorities – especially if you have colored, damaged, or frizzy hair. For our part, with our bleached blond hair, it was more than time that we revisited the salon and get a retouch.

We decided to try the newest Revlon Professional Haircare line, particular the Eksperience and RE/START brands. After an initial consultation with our stylist, it was decided to stick to our original ash blonde color, but just retouch the roots.

The entire process took around four hours, but it was such a pleasant change from the traditional bleaching experience. Whereas before, the bleach would kind of irritate our scalp (since it was applied so close to the roots), the Revlon products were gently combed through each strand. Not only did this give better coverage, but allowed us to enjoy the process instead of gritting our teeth and chanting “tiis ganda”.

The result was bouncy hair that looked and felt healthier. Plus, unlike some blonde colors that look brassy and bring out an unhealthy pallor to our skin, Revlon was able to make our hair look vibrant – we even got complimented on how healthy our skin looked!

During our retouching, though, our stylist reminded us of 6 tips that you can do today to make your hair color last longer:

  1. Apply the color on dry hair – Hair dyes work best when applied on dry hair.
  2. Wash hair with lukewarm water – This helps keep the hair vibrant for longer. If you have lighter hair, you can try the Eksperience Color Protection Blonde & Grey Hair Cleanser.
  3. Use products made specifically for color-treated hair – Using a traditional shampoo can strip away the color dyes faster! We recommend the RE/START Color Protective Gentle Cleanser.
  4. Use hair masks often – This keeps the color longer and makes your hair look shinier. For deep nourishing, we recommend the Eksperience Color Protection Color Sealing Mask.
  5. Protect your hair from heat – Constantly styling your hair with flat irons can make your hair look dull faster.
  6. Refresh color with a single wash – If you want to add “oomph” to your hair for that special Christmas party, try using a special wash like the Revlon Professional Nutri Color™ Filter, which revives color in just a few minutes.

Treat yourself and your hair to some pampering this Christmas with Revlon. We often underestimate it, but having great-looking hair adds so much to our confidence – transforming the Christmas howl-idays to a special month where you always sleigh (slay)!
