This year, Belgian bag brand Hedgren is blowing out 30 candles, and they are not letting that go unnoticed. In honor of the 30th anniversary, Hedgren is launching its very first signature logo. “We represent a brand new era in Hedgren’s history. With this signature, we emphasize the use of sustainable materials in our products.”

Hedgren Philippines celebrated the brand’s 30th anniversary at the Hedgren Pearl Anniversary Dinner on May 30 at the Society Lounge Makati, where loyal customers were invited to a Belgian beer exploration and dining experience to celebrate the brand’s roots from Antwerp, Belgium. Hedgren partnered with The Tasting Club to curate a five-course pairing menu of Belgian beers and French cuisine, resulting in a unique gastronomic experience befitting Hedgren’s heritage.

Xavier Kegels launched Hedgren Creations in Antwerp in 1993 as a tribute to his open-minded, down-to-earth grandmother Elisabeth Hedgren. To this day, her timeless spirit can be found in every collection, every bag and every fine detail.

New Signature

In celebration of this milestone year, Hedgren also launched a new symbol that heralds a brand new era in Hedgren’s history: products with this signature are ‘Hedgren approved’ and thus designed with sustainable materials.

To launch this new signature, Hedgren Philippines designed an exclusive pearl brooch (the 30th anniversary stone) molded after the new logo which were worn by guests and VIPs at the anniversary dinner.

In the signature, the H of Hedgren takes centerstage. It symbolizes connectivity and links the different parts of the logo just as Hedgren wants to connect destinations, opportunities, people and communities. The ‘H’ also stands for the balance between reason and emotion, unity and inclusiveness. In addition, you will recognise the horizontal 8, the symbol for unlimited freedom. Hedgren takes you from A to B without limitations in time, mind, space and mode of transport. Finally, the infinity symbol also stands for Hedgren’s eco-friendly, future-proof approach with consideration for the planet.

Trends have shifted over the past 30 years, but the philosophy behind the brand remains unchanged. Hedgren still creates bags, backpacks and cases where functionality and beauty come together, with the long-term promise to move people, both physically and emotionally. “Our consumers are our driving force, the motivation behind our design process, with inclusivity and freedom of movement at the basis of every model.”
