Taiwanese festivals do not capture the rich and diverse culture it also spells fun and excitement for foreign visitors. The country hosts several amazing festivals, that attract participants from all over the world.
- Cycling Festival.
Known as the cycling capital of Asia, Taiwan has a long history of manufacturing bikes and amazing cycling infrastructure. Enthusiasts not only compete for the prize but for the unique experience of enjoying scenic views of mountains and natural water. The festival includes various races, with more challenging events such as the KOM (King of the Mountains) for serious cyclists.
- Hot Spring Fine-Cuisine Carnival.
The country abounds in scenic thermal springs and the therapeutic soak is loved for its health benefits. The Hot Spring and Fine Cuisine Carnival combines the wellness advantage of hot springs, topped with tasty, gourmet yet healthy meals.
- Beef Noodle Festival.
Beef noodle soup is so well-loved that it has its annual celebration, usually held in September or October. On this particular occasion, restaurants cook up their own version of the national dish, serving them in festive stalls at the Expo Park.
Visitors can cap the festival with a night visit to the Yehliu Geopark a landscape of honeycomb and mushroom rocks eroded by the sea. A nightly show called “Time of Rocks in Yehliu” uses colorful lights and music to highlight the area’s incredible rock formations like the famous Queen’s Head.
From June 30 to July 2 Filipino travelers can experience the magic of Yehliu’s Queen’s Head, Rainbow Zebra Crossing in Ximending, and Taipei 101’s night view, when they visit the grand Taiwan pavilion at the 10th Philippines TME (Travel Madness Expo) from June 30 to July 2 at the SMX Convention Center Manila.
The Taiwan Pavilion will have exciting performances and experiential games for visitors like the DIY Oh Bear folding frisbee, DIY pineapple cake, sustainable grass weaving, an interesting Taiwan tour led by electric sticks, and a chance to savor the globally popular pearl milk tea and red bean milk with shaved ice.
