The opening track, and namesake of the EP, ‘Butterfly’ is about a past relationship originally written as a love song about his partner however before it could reach audiences, the relationship ended. BSK then reworked the song into a combination of how things started, with a collaboration between him and his partner, which includes her snippets, to then evolving the angle to the end of the relationship. The track opens the floodgates to the raw, honest emotion layed out in the rest of the EP with an enchanting sound, city soundscapes and a upbeat drum-track.
The follow-up track “Come Baby Come Here,” is a joyful celebration of love’s longing. It encapsulates the intensity of the emotions felt being in a long-distance relationship, yearning to be close to a cherished partner.
