The groundbreaking ceremonies for Carmona’s new city hall in Cavite marked a significant milestone for the local government and its growth plans. Mayor Dahlia A. Loyola and Cavite 5th district Rep. Roy Loyola emphasized the city’s infrastructure development project, which aims to transform it into a vital economic hub in southern Metro Manila. The event also marked a strengthened partnership between the LGU and property development firms SM Prime Holdings, Inc. and SM Development Corporation.
Both companies are involved in the building of the new city hall and the township that will rise around it called Carmona International City (CIC).
Mayor Loyola and President of SMDC, Jose Mari Banzon, expressed optimism about the collaboration between the LGU, SMDC, and SM Prime in Carmona City, highlighting its potential for inclusive growth. They emphasized the partnership’s unity and vibrancy within the community, and the commitment to fostering growth in areas with exceptional potential. Banzon expressed enthusiasm for bringing their expertise and resources to Carmona City, working closely to help realize its vision of becoming a thriving urban center.
Carmona as a Prime Growth Area
SM Prime and SMDC’s recognition of Carmona as a promising area emphasizes its development potential. Situated strategically between the country’s capital and the industrial and residential centers of the South, Carmona possesses key attributes conducive to growth. Its proximity to major infrastructure, a youthful and well-educated population, and business-friendly policies position it favorably to attract both local and international investments.
The CIC aims to address the needs of a growing population while prioritizing health, safety, and convenience. It seeks to enhance the overall quality of life for the community, emphasizing a holistic approach to urban planning.
As a core component of this transformative partnership, SMDC will actively participate in the design and construction of the city hall’s facade. Situated at the heart of CIC, the new city hall will be a three-story building with roof deck, envisioned with rising symmetrical vertical structures in concrete earth tones that convey grounding, stability, and dependability, while its abundance of glass windows and doors will also lend modernity.
According to SMDC, their involvement extends to overseeing the overall aesthetics and functionality, ensuring a structure fitting for a first class metropolis.
Paving the Way for a Bright Future
Carmona City is set to experience significant growth and development through the partnership between SM Prime and SMDC. These developments aim to improve living standards, create more growth opportunities, and contribute to Carmona City’s emergence as a sustainable urban development model. Congressman Roy M. Loyola praised the partnership as a dream-turned-reality, stating that it embodies the city’s ambition to provide citizens with the best facilities.
