Fashion icon Heart Evangelista and Sofia Andres will attend an exclusive pre-opening party for Onitsuka Tiger, a business founded in 1949 by Kihachiro Onitsuka. The company is commemorating its 75th anniversary in 2024, aiming to inspire people with dreams and dreams for their future. The event will take place in Tokyo from August 9 to 25, allowing attendees to explore the company’s past accomplishments and future aspirations. The event will also mark Onitsuka Tiger’s 100th anniversary.

On the eve of the grand opening, international celebrities, such as Korean actor Chae Jong Hyeop, Malaysian cosplay model Hakken Coser, vdFilipino fashion icon Heart Evangelista, and actress Sofia Andres graced the venue with their presence.

The Onitsuka Tiger 75th Anniversary Event in Tokyo is a significant occasion symbolizing the brand’s journey through the past, present, and strides towards the upcoming 100th anniversary milestone. The event showcases a photo exhibition of 75  distinctive pairs of shoes, each encapsulating a rich narrative and aspirations. Specifically spotlighted are the pair that kickstarted the brand, the pair that became a game changer of the era, and the one that is pivotal for Onitsuka Tiger’s global reach. Guests have the  

opportunity to immerse themselves in a world-premiere display of art pieces inspired by the brand, a captivating short film tour showcasing Onitsuka Tiger stores worldwide created with state-of-the-art full CG, XR technology, motion capture techniques, and an installation featuring the latest collection. 

Moreover, attendees can explore five exclusive anniversary items that pay tribute to the brand’s 75th anniversary on display at the event site. This presents a unique opportunity to witness the models that initiated the birth, transformation, challenges, and evolution of  Onitsuka Tiger, reimagined and reinterpreted in a contemporary fashion for the first time. 

The Onitsuka Tiger event will take place from August 9 to 25, 2024, from 11:00 to 17:00. Admission is free, with priority given to reservations. HÔTEL Onitsuka Tiger has launched a limited-time store in Paris’ Champs-Élysées, opening tentatively in July 2025. The 19th-century building, typically off-limits to the public, offers a range of experimental entertainment, including culinary experiences, fashion, accommodation, travel, music, and artistic engagements. The store’s witty touch embodies Onitsuka Tiger’s essence, providing customers with a unique and memorable experience.

As the HÔTEL Onitsuka Tiger Residents, Grammy Award-winning international pianist Yuja  Wang, Yoji Tokuyoshi (Michelin star chef in Milan), Maïa Barouh (Tokyo-born, Paris-raised  Japanese-French singer-songwriter, flutist, and multi-musician), and emerging young artist  Yutaro Inagaki, present their cultural artworks during this event. Throughout this duration,  visitors can savor the unique Japanese culinary culture at the YELLOW TIGER CAFÉ,  nestled within the venue’s premises.
