Montblanc has released three iconic timepieces: the Montblanc Bohème, the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Chronograph Limited Edition 290, and the Montblanc Star Legacy Green Exploding Star. The Bohème timepieces are inspired by handwriting and water painting and come in a 30mm Automatic Date and two Day & Night models. The 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Chronograph Limited Edition 290 pays tribute to Reinhold Messner’s 80th birthday and legacy. The Star Legacy Green Exploding Star is a sporty yet elegant model with a green aesthetic, replicating the aerial view of Mont Blanc mountain with an exploding star guilloché motif.

Montblanc has expanded its Bohème watch collection with three new models inspired by handwriting and watercolors. The collection includes a 30mm Automatic Date and two Day & Night models in 30mm and 34mm. The Bohème style combines refined dials with decorative techniques and practical complications, interpreted elegantly. The classic case with faceted integrated horns blends the Montblanc Bohème style with essential functionality, adding a touch of romance to the collection.

The Montblanc Bohème Automatic Date is a 30mm stainless steel case with an elegant sun-brushed silver-white dial featuring diamond indexes, rose gold-coated floral Arabic numerals, and rose gold-coated hands. It features a filet sauté pattern around the dial, an engraved circular line that frames the sun-brushed finish, and a stamping technique called filét d’étoiles for the ring containing the numerals and diamond indexes. This technique was inspired by photographs of the night sky using long exposure times to capture the movement of stars in the night sky as the Earth rotates.

Meanwhile, Montblanc released a limited edition of the 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Chronograph in honor of legendary alpinist Reinhold Messner, born in 1944 in South Tyrol, Northern Italy. Messner is considered one of the greatest high-altitude mountaineers globally, having climbed all 14 of the world’s over 8,000-meter peaks. His route for ascending the famous “Seven Summits” is inscribed in mountaineering history as “Messner’s List.” He was the first to climb Mount Everest solo without supplemental oxygen, along with fellow climber Peter Habeler. Messner also traversed Antarctica with skis, crossed Greenland on foot, and walked the entire Gobi Desert alone.

Montblanc has created an 1858 Geosphere Chronograph 0 Oxygen Limited Edition of 290 to honor the 80th birthday of mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner. The timepiece features a 44mm lightweight polished titanium case with a bi-directional fluted satin-finished black ceramic bezel inspired by the red glaciers in Antarctica. The dial is handcrafted using a unique technique called gratté boisé, taking four times longer than a standard dial.

The watch is encased in zero oxygen, eliminating fogging and preventing oxidation. Each timepiece comes with a zero-oxygen certificate as proof of this invisible technology. Montblanc’s engineers have chosen specific oils that perform at temperatures as low as -50oC, ensuring the watch can function in harsh environments without incident.

Powered by Montblanc’s Manufacture Automatic Chronograph movement the Calibre MB 29.27, the limited edition watch has a worldtime complexity with turning globes for both the Northern and Southern hemispheres, 24-hour scale, day/night indication, and date via a disc. From the top of K2, a unique colored engraving of K2 is adorning the case back. The image was taken from one of Messner’s photos from the summit on his first ascent there in 1979. Montblanc’s laser engraving technique creates a three-dimensional relief by structuring the metal with matte and shiny finishes for additional contrast.

The timepiece is fitted with an interchangeable black textile strap with a touch of red stitching, recalling the wonders of the rare red glaciers. This limited edition watch pays tribute to Messner and his legacy, making it a fitting model to pay tribute to his achievements.

The two new Montblanc Star Legacy limited editions feature a green twist on the timeless watch. Founded in 1906, Montblanc was named after the famous Mont Blanc mountain, symbolizing luxury craftsmanship from Switzerland, France, and Italy. The Montblanc emblem, introduced in 1913, represents a bird’s eye view of the mountain with its six glacier valleys. This emblem inspired the first Montblanc Star Legacy watch collection in 1997. Following introducing two limited edition timepieces in blue last year, Montblanc returns to this sporty yet elegant model with a new green aesthetic featuring an exploding star guilloché motif.

Guilloché, a finishing technique dating back to the 16th century, gained popularity in watchmaking in the 18th century, primarily thanks to Abraham-Louis Breguet’s work. Today, it is mainly used in Haute Horlogerie timepieces, but Montblanc’s Star Legacy line has replicated this effect with a unique stamp. The Montblanc Star Legacy Collection features a variety of design elements inspired by Minerva pocket watches from the late 19th and early 20th century, including round, polished pebble-shaped cases and onion-shaped crowns. The Montblanc emblem on the crown and pointed rhodium-coated sword-shaped hands are also recognizable.

Two key Montblanc Star Legacy Collection models are the Automatic Date and Chronograph Day & Date. The Automatic Date features a green dial with luminescent hands and numerals powered by the MB24.17 automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve. The Chronograph Day & Date features the same design elements as the Automatic Date but includes a clock, day, and date.

Both models are water-resistant up to 5 bar and come with Montblanc’s interchangeable strap system, which includes a stainless-steel bracelet or a green calf leather strap with alligator print and beige stitching. The Montblanc Star Legacy collection embodies classical watchmaking and casual elegance, making it suitable for any occasion.
