Philippine Esports Organization (PeSO), the national governing body for esports in the Philippines, recently signed an agreement with property giant Double Dragon Corporation, naming its hospitality arm HOTEL101 as the official hotel partner of the organization and all its esports activities for 2023.

The agreement marks the first partnership between PeSO and a non-esports-related corporation, and PeSO executive director Marlon Marcelo said he’s optimistic for PeSO to receive more support from different industries in the future.

“PESO has big plans to further uplift our esports industry and we intend to host great esports events in the Philippines. Having partners such as Hotel101 will definitely help bring that vision into reality,” Marcelo adds.

HOTEL101 will be hosting SIBOL, the Philippine National Esports Team before they fly out to represent the country in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia this coming May.

“We are excited and thankful for Hotel101’s commitment to supporting the growth of Philippine esports. PeSO has a good roadmap of activities lined up for 2023 and us having a hotel partner to host our athletes is a testament to how esports is gaining prominence in the Philippines,” says PeSO executive director Marlon Marcelo.

Marcelo and Hotel101 Group general manager Gel Gomez signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at Hotel101 in Manila. The partnership was then accentuated with a turnover of a commemorative jacket given to both PESO and Hotel101 executives.

“HOTEL101 is committed to supporting these proud Filipino athletes in any way we can. Our goal is to empower them as they build a legacy not only for themselves but for the country,” Gomez said.
