Cebu is regarded as one of the most desirable locations in the country for outsourcing companies. Indeed, according to a recent Colliers Philippines analysis, BPOs in Cebu would continue to boost office space demand in Q4 2023. With the city’s rapid expansion, it is critical to create a varied and inclusive BPO place where everyone can feel secure and supported. To assist reach this aim, global finance services business Payoneer recently hosted the WOMENtrepreneurs Meetup at the Dusit Thani Mactan in Cebu, where industry professionals addressed inclusive leadership in the outsourcing sector.
“When we started WOMENtrepreneurs Meetup earlier this year, our goal was to support women leaders in the outsourcing industry. But when we saw how empowering that event was, we knew we needed to reach more BPO leaders especially in other growth centers like Cebu and together, build a more diverse and inclusive BPO space in the country,” shares Payoneer Country Manager Monique Avila.
Inclusive leadership in BPOs
In her talk, Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP) Managing Director Rosario Cajucom-Bradbury highlighted the importance of inclusive leadership in the outsourcing industry. She emphasized the need for a diverse workforce for success, fostering revenue growth, innovation, employee satisfaction, and harmony. Cajucom-Bradbury also emphasized three key elements of inclusive leadership, namely: integrity, curiosity, and respect. She has been proactive in advocating for policymakers to institutionalize equity policies for all genders, especially as the BPO industry continues to grow in the Philippines. Microsourcing CEO and CCAP HR Council Haidee Enriquez emphasized the industry’s critical contribution to the Philippine economy, stating that it is crucial for the industry to adapt to achieve unparalleled success.
