The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines is set to host the 13th Regional Travel Fair (RTF) in General Santos City from September 27 to 29, 2024. The event, a flagship program of TPB, aims to showcase unique tourism assets in collaboration with local government units and industry stakeholders. The 13th edition will focus on the SOCCSKSARGEN region, including Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani provinces, and four cities. SOCCSKSARGEN is known for its diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and natural beauty, offering a hidden gem for exploration.
“Through each Regional Travel Fair, we remain committed to boosting domestic tourism by connecting industry players and unlocking new opportunities. Not only do these events benefit businesses, but they also inspire more Filipinos to discover the wonders of our own country,” said TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles. “We invite everyone to join us at the 13th RTF in General Santos and uncover the treasures of SOCCSKSARGEN.”
The three-day event starts with a Business-to-Business (B2B) session on September 27, bringing together local and national sellers with buyers to form partnerships, expand travel-related business opportunities, and discuss emerging trends in the tourism industry. This networking session will feature at least 50 buyers and 70 sellers/exhibitors, including representatives from airlines, hotels, tour operators, and provincial tourism offices from the SOCCSKSARGEN region.
On September 28 and 29, a Business-to-Consumer (B2C) fair will take place at SM City General Santos, where the public can enjoy exclusive discounts on travel packages, air and sea tickets, accommodations, and other tourism-related products and services.
Attendees will also be treated to live performances, interactive games like Travel Bingo, and presentations from DOT regional offices, sponsors, and local tourism stakeholders. In celebration of Tourism Month, the event will feature a tourism-themed quiz bee, adding a fun and educational twist to the festivities. Local artisans will also showcase their talents through product demonstrations, offering attendees a closer look at the region’s handcrafted goods.
The 13th RTF is organized in partnership with DOT SOCCSKSARGEN, the City of General Santos, and the Province of South Cotabato, with support from 2GO, Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and SM City General Santos.
