The Department of Education (DepEd) has partnered with Aice Ice Cream Philippines to create a cheerful learning environment for over 95,000 students, faculty, and school personnel nationwide. The partnership supports two educational programs, the National Learning Camp and Brigada Eskwela. The National Learning Camp is the first in the country to address learning gaps caused by the pandemic. DepEd and Aice conducted fun-filled programs and educational activities for both students and teachers, with free ice cream provided for all participants. The partnership aims to magnify happiness and help each other.

Aice also participated in DepEd’s annual Brigada Eskwela, a program that prepares all schools for the opening of the new school year, ensuring that all educational materials are available and making sure that classrooms and other school facilities are clean and well maintained in time for opening of classes. To support this annual initiative by DepED, Aice donated cleaning materials for the classrooms and helped clean school facilities. Aice employees volunteered to selected schools during the Brigada Eskwela.

With a common goal to inspire and motivate members of the school community, Aice with DepEd’s support, visited more than 500 schools and learning institutions across the different parts of the country. This includes Tuguegarao, Nueva Ecija, Baguio, Tarlac, Angeles, NCR, CALABARZON, Mindoro, Palawan, Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Aklan, Butuan, Cotabato, Davao, General Santos, Zamboanga, to name a few. Throughout the partnership, Aice was able to donate more than 75,000 ice cream products, bringing smiles to the members of the educational sector nationwide.

Aice Ice Cream Philippines’ Brand Manager Shereene Yu shared how thrilled and grateful they were to be able to give back to the community through these initiatives, “we are more than happy to be able to create such positive and driving impact to students and schools in different parts of the Philippines. We are looking forward to continuing to bring more smiles and imparting knowledge to other school communities through our ice cream products.”

“It is truly a great undertaking to have the Aice team by our side as we go and make a difference for the Filipino learners, one school at a time,” Director of DepEd External Partnership Services Margarita Ballesteros said. As the initiatives come to a close, DepEd and Aice hope that this can be experienced by all learners in the future and that through the happiness brought by ice cream, inspire a more cheerful learning environment for all.
