Eastwood City, Quezon City’s entertainment hub, hosted an Earth Hour event on March 23, 2024, showcasing its commitment to environmental conservation. The first-ever Eastwood City Eco Sprint, led by Mayor Joy Belmonte, attracted over 600 runners from the metro, encouraging an active lifestyle and raising environmental awareness. The event also included a 1km fun run for pets, highlighting the township’s dedication to pet-friendliness and the planet’s inhabitants.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte lent her support to the cause by joining the vibrant crowd in the spirited run. Mayor Joy endorsed Eastwood City’s initiatives during her opening remarks, reiterating her focus on advancing sustainability efforts for the year 2024.
Joining Mayor Belmonte was the Head of the Sustainability Council of Alliance Global, Inc. Arnie Batac. A leading advocate for environmental stewardship, Batac also shared his inspiring insights on sustainable living and encouraged participants to take proactive steps towards reducing their carbon footprint.
Mayor Belmonte and Arnie Batac also took the center stage to lead the ceremonial shutting off of the lights, signifying Eastwood City’s participation in the global movement of Earth Hour.
