“Metro Home” hosts Anton Barretto and Jessica Kienle Maxwell will feature the Spanish cuisine at Asador Alfonso in a special episode airing on Metro Channel on August 17, featuring dishes like carabinero, roasted lamb, jamon, and Flan de Teresa, as well as a delectable dessert.
Initially a private family vacation house located at Lava Rock in Alfonso, Cavite, the restaurant was built through the partnership of contemporary architect Carlo Calma and Chef Chele Gonzalez with their vision of bringing people closer to nature.
During the pandemic, Carlo and Chele thought of creating a simple dining place for their family and friends. Still, it was eventually transformed into a restaurant when they bought a roasting oven from Spain.
Aside from its acceptable dining offering, the place also boasts a volcanic-inspired modern architecture that emulates a feeling of destination away from one’s home. It includes walk-through villas and a pool area and serves as a temporary shelter for migratory birds.
Witness the architectural wonder and taste the delicate, traditional Spanish cuisine in “Metro Home Specials: Asador Alfonso” this Saturday (Aug. 17) at 7 pm. Metro Channel is available on Sky Cable channel 52 (SD) and channel 174 (HD), Cignal channel 69, and GSAT channel 70.
