HONOR, a leading smart device provider, debuted at VivaTech, showcasing its innovative Four-layered AI Strategy and commitment to on-device AI. CEO George Zhao announced the upcoming Gen-AI experiences in collaboration with Google Cloud, which will be integrated into the highly anticipated smartphones. HONOR’s focus on human-centric design and AI-driven cross-device integration is vital in its upcoming smartphones.
“At HONOR, we believe in harnessing on-device AI’s personalization, intuitiveness, and privacy protection to safely unlock AI’s full potential. We are excited to collaborate with Google Cloud to push the boundaries of this hybrid approach and deliver seamless AI experiences to our users,” George Zhao added.
The Four-Layer AI Architecture comprises Cross-device and Cross-OS AI, Platform-level AI, App-level AI, and Interface to Cloud-AI services. The Cross-device and Cross-OS AI is the foundational layer that enables an open ecosystem, facilitating computing power and service sharing among HONOR devices and operating systems. Secondly, the Platform-level AI personalizes the operating system, allowing intent-based human-computer interaction and efficient resource allocation. The App-level AI pioneers innovative, generative AI applications to revolutionize user experiences. Lastly, the Interface to Cloud-AI services ensures user access to extensive cloud services while prioritizing privacy protection.
The industry’s first intent-based UI that understands user behavior and streamlines complex tasks into single-step processes are just some of the notable powers of the MagicOS 8.0 featuring Magic Portal. The Magic Portal supports 100 top applications across travel, productivity, messaging, search, entertainment, shopping, and social media but will continue to expand to provide even more seamless and intelligent AI experiences. Moreover, HONOR will roll out the MagicOS.
Inspired by Studio Harcourt’s legendary portrait photography techniques, the HONOR 200 Series uses AI to replicate the studio’s iconic lighting and shadow effects, ensuring studio-quality portraits with every shot. The HONOR 200 Series was launched in Paris on June 12.
In addition, the insightful panel discussion at VivaTech 2024 also featured industry expert, Dr. Justine Cassell, exploring the future of multimodal interaction. He noted that “humans live multimodally, and the integration of verbal and nonverbal cues in AI systems predicts a future where multimodally-sensitive AI on phones helps a diverse range of users.”
