Symphony Communication Public Company Limited has been investing in upgrading its network infrastructure since 2021 to meet the growing demand for high-speed, reliable, and secure connectivity. One key initiative is the deployment of OTN/ASON DWDM and SDN-MPLS technology, which allows flexible bandwidth allocation, enhanced network resilience, scalable reaching Terabit capacity, and reduced operational costs.
Symphony has utilized OTN/ASON DWDM technology for a transparent and scalable transport layer, supporting various services and applications. The SDN-MPLS technology allows for centralized control and automation of network functions, including routing and traffic engineering. This has resulted in a 100% increase in network capacity, reaching up to 200 Gbps per wavelength and 20 Tbps per fiber pair with low latency. Symphony also implemented multiple fiber legs with ASON, GMPLS, and Segment Routing MPLS protection mechanisms for faster recovery from network failures. At the same time, Symphony has simplified its network architecture and operations by using SDN-MPLS technology to automate and optimize network functions. This reduces the need for manual intervention, the risk of human error, and the number of network devices and interfaces. As a result, it has significantly lowered its capital and operational expenditures. |

This includes implementing the new onboarding program to build meaningful onboarding for the new joiners, as the company believes that the first month is a crucial stage for new employees. It involves providing the necessary basics, an induction program necessary for their roles, conducting new joiner pulse surveys, providing micro-learning, and letting them enjoy small success celebrations with management once they complete their first four months.
Moreover, it has launched many activities that impact employees’ well-being to be consistent with the economic situation and remain competitive in the market. This includes increasing medical benefits by 160% across all levels, growing more than five days of vacation based on their service tenure, updating the perks and working tools policy, and organizing more than 20 meaningful events for employees. Symphony’s initiatives have reduced company-wide attrition to 6% and increased employee engagement survey ratings by 14% over the last five years. These efforts have earned the company recognition at the Asian Telecom Awards, with network infrastructures winning Infrastructure Initiative of the Year – Thailand and Employee Xperience initiatives winning HR Initiative of the Year – Thailand.
