The sole athlete to represent the Philippines is alpine skier Asa Bisquera Miller, who wore ASICS at the 2022 Winter Olympics Opening Parade in Beijing, China.
ASICS was the official outfitter of Miller at the Parade of Nations during the opening ceremony. Miller rose the Philippine flag and paraded along the world’s best athletes. It was a proud moment for the Philippines, a tropical country, to have representation in the Winter Olympics.
SONAK Corporation has been supporting Filipino athletes in their Olympic journeys. During the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 2019 SEA Games, ASICS was the official apparel and footwear of these talented and driven individuals. With their partnership with the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), ASICS was able to provide comfort and ease of movement to help them compete and perform at their optimal level.
Miller, 21, will be competing at the giant slalom and men’s slalom. This is his second time representing the Philippines in the Olympics. He first competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics held in Pyeongchang, South Korea. He was a teenager then, now 4 years later more is expected from the Olympic athlete.
The 2022 Winter Olympics started last February 4 at the Beijing National Stadium.
