The PHx Fashion Conference, led by a Filipino designer, aims to promote new Filipino fashion brands globally. It aligns with Ayala Malls’ “BRAVO!” Filipino campaign and seeks to identify and acknowledge both new and established artists in the Philippines. The conference seeks support from people across the country to help these artists become known globally.

The PHx Fashion Conference, hosted at Ayala Malls Greenbelt and Ayala Museum, provides greater accessibility for aspiring designers and professionals to this prestigious event. This convenience extends to the esteemed speakers, who will be accommodated at Seda Residences Makati for the duration of the event. Overall, through the vision of BRAVO! Filipino and PHx, the conference aspires to create an insightful and inspiring experience in a conducive environment, fostering seamless connections among speakers and audiences throughout November 17 to 19.

A Gathering of the Country’s Fashion Mavens

With trailblazers in the fashion and creative industries—including Philippe Terrien and Giselle Go from TFC Press, and Norman Rene de Vera from AZ Factory—PHx is curating an enlightening weekend filled with sessions and workshops on fashion business strategies. Respected names in the local scene are also sharing the stage to provide their unique perspectives on the business of fashion, including Pam Quiñones from Vogue Philippines, Dan Matutina from Plus63 / Hydra Design Group, CJ Cruz from Carl Jan Cruz, and Dante Dizon and Noli Coronado from 13 Lucky Monkey.

The stylish affair commences on November 17 with an opening reception in none other than the country’s fashion capital: Ayala Malls Greenbelt. Hosted at the Greenbelt 5 Gallery, speakers and guests are invited for a friendly sip and socials as Mariana Zobel de Ayala, Ayala Land Inc. Senior Vice President and Leasing and Hospitality Group Head, delivers her welcoming remarks.

The main event convenes on November 18 to 19 at the Ayala Museum.

On the 18th, the PHx Group kicks off with a strategic creative business assessment. This comprehensive evaluation is designed to assess the creative aspects of a business to help it develop strategic initiatives. Following that is the Fashion Designer Conversations with Norman Rene de Vera and Pam Quiñones, touching on topics like design awakening and inspiration, the global fashion industry, competition, and business relationships. Finally, the afternoon is divided into three segments hosted by TFC Press: firstly, The Building Blocks of Fashion, secondly, Strategic Communications through PR and Marketing, and thirdly, Sales, Distribution, and Presentations.

The 19th promises a day of equal excitement, starting with a portfolio review by TFC Press and Norman René de Vera, followed by an introduction to financial technology (fintech) by GCash. This session discusses how fintech can be leveraged by creative businesses to innovate, manage finances, and support growth. Leading graphic designer Dan Matutina then leads a talk on brand identity and intellectual property, followed by an exciting panel discussion led by TFC Press on the unique journeys of two cutting-edge Filipino contemporary labels making waves on the global stage. This is graced by the presence of CJ Cruz of Carl Jan Cruz and Dante Dizon and Noli Coronado of 13 Lucky Monkey. Concluding the event is a post-conference assessment, enabling attendees to review the brand strategy they formulated during the first conference session and reassess it in light of the points discussed throughout the conference proper.

Ayala Malls’ BRAVO! Filipino’s Ongoing Advocacy

The PHx Fashion Conference follows BRAVO! Filipino’s recent efforts in celebrating the artistic excellence of Filipinos. These efforts include the hosting of the 19th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival in Ayala Malls Cinemas. Graced by Dolly De Leon, the first Filipina actress to be nominated for BAFTA and Golden Globes, the initiative aimed to inspire industry professionals and students alike to excel in the world of film. BRAVO! Filipino also hosted the Ternocon III exhibit, a fashion showcase that reinterpreted the terno to fit modern society. Moreover, earlier this year, BRAVO! Filipino joined hands with Stella Abrera for a series of public ballet performances at various Ayala Malls, including the VisMin area, featuring The American Ballet Theatre Studio Company (ABT) and renowned pianist Cecile Licad.

Ayala Group’s BRAVO! Filipino campaign synergizes seamlessly with the purpose of PHx. Founded by a group of designers and creatives led by Seph Bagasao and Esme Palaganas, with the support of art advocate Trickie Lopa, PHx continues to elevate fledgling Filipino brands to a global level. Similarly, BRAVO! Filipino is moving forward with full force to bring international recognition to deserving local talents, whether in the fields of fashion, style, food, or the arts.
