Adidas has launched its first dedicated padel footwear franchise, the CRAZYQUICK Padel collection. The collection includes two models with advanced technologies, the CRAZYQUICK Boost Padel and the COURTQUICK Padel, as well as two new colorways for the CRAZYQUICK Lightstrike Padel. The range will be available worldwide from December 1st, 2024, in stores and online at adidas.com/padel_tennis-shoes. The CRAZYQUICK Boost Padel is designed for top players, offering enhanced stability, cushioning, and energy return
Three key technologies have been used to provide athletes with footwear that is designed for the unique movement patterns of padel:
- BOOST INSERT: Adidas Boost Insert uses foam capsules to provide powerful energy return for the player during those dynamic and explosive movements, such as when at the net or playing a quick return
- TPU Mid-Foot Stabilizer: Forming vital support around the foot without restricting movement or reducing comfort – helping to allow the foot to pivot rather than roll over or twist
- Multi-Directional Rubber Outsole: The outsole is segmented, with each segment placed according to movement patterns seen in the padel to provide grip and traction in all directions. In the forefoot, there is a ‘pivot point’ that is designed to support the fast turns seen in padel
Kerryn Foster, GM Specialist Sports adidas, said: “Creating and providing the best products for athletes of all levels is at the core of what we do. As padel’s popularity and presence grow, we build on our experience gained after over 10 years of involvement in the sport and introduce this exciting new range of footwear. All CRAZYQUICK models have been developed to enable people to play freely and quickly, whether on the professional circuit or at their local court.”
The CRAZYQUICK Lightstrike Padel arrives in two exciting new colorways, featuring black, white, and lucid red colors for the men’s model and metallic silver, lucid red,d and lucid pink colors for the women’s model. The shoe has been crafted to support padel’s explosive and multi-directional movement patterns, focusing on speed across the court and when at the net.
Standout features include its Lightstrike midsole, which incorporates an ultra-light layer of Lightstrike foam cushioning to deliver the perfect balance of energy return and speed, combined with a Multi-Directional Rubber Outsole tailored for fast sprints and dynamic movement. This model also features a Sling-Frame Construction, delivering lightweight support during fast changes in direction, providing stability without restriction, by only securing the foot exactly where needed.
The COURTQUICK Padel is a performance-first footwear model built for the everyday joys of padel play. The footwear features a lightweight and breathable upper, delivering durability and lateral stability.
This is achieved through technologies such as the TPU Mid-foot stabilizer, but also the introduction of a Cloud Foam+ midsole to padel footwear – providing the necessary cushioning and support needed for the game, while a page-specific traction pattern built into the adiwear rubber outsole, offers traction for multi-directional movement across the court.
The CRAZYQUICK Padel range has been inspired and influenced by testing with players of all levels, including some of the game’s leading players. Throughout this process, insights and feedback have been utilized to ensure the footwear meets the specific demands of padel.
Martita Ortega, one of the world’s leading padel players, said, “Being involved in the development of this range has been an incredible experience. Anything that helps me perform slightly better is a big advantage, so I know how vital it is to have the right footwear – I’ve had this in mind when providing insights for the CRAZYQUICK Padel franchise, and I’m really excited to get out there and play in them myself.”
The CRAZYQUICK franchise is the brand’s latest commitment to the rapidly growing sport of padel. Over the past 10 years, through its licensing partnership with All For Padel, adidas has supplied padel rackets to some of the world’s best players, and All For Padel has built over 3,000 adidas courts across 48 countries.
The brand is also the official racket supplier for Premier Padel in Sevilla and Malaga for the 2024 and 2025 editions and the official ball supplier for Dubai Premier Padel from October 2024.
