During Milan Fashion Week, Furla celebrates the 10th anniversary of the signature Furla Candy tote handbag with a special installation, blending the brand’s authentic combination of tradition and innovation with a forward-thinking conscious vision. Respecting the original style’s essential, immediate and contemporary design, Re-Candy is Furla’s first sustainable bag, developed in collaboration with a range of Italian companies that are very focused on implementing sustainable solutions.
Designed observing the principles of the circular economy thanks to the support of Nativa Regenerative Design Company that guides the radical evolution of companies by integrating principles of sustainability and activating their purpose, Re-Candy is made of recycled plastic and is produced by an Italian company powered exclusively by electrical energy from certified renewable sources.
Re-Candy’s components are all designed from a sustainable perspective. The label is crafted from FSC certified paper; the backpack that comes with it is in recycled cotton dyed with natural colors; all accessories and the shoulder strap are made of recycled materials. In addition, to avoid the use of polluting inks, the Re-Candy name, and the Furla logo have been embossed on the body of the bag, which is available in a vibrant color palette ranging from pink and purple to orange and lime green.
Re-Candy was produced to be durable and last long. However, at the end of its cycle of use, it can be fully recycled. Underlining Re-Candy’s sustainable spirit, Furla has created a temporary space that will host the bag’s see now-buy now presentation and will engage in a green conversation with the city of Milan during the Milan Fashion Week.
A lifestyle that finds a balance between the urban dynamism and the serenity of the natural world, maxi multi-colored inflatable flowers will be enriched by seats and display totems for the presentation of Re-Candy, whose environmentally friendly design and production processes will be documented through a video via the maxi screen. In line with Furla’s original spirit, this creative installation becomes a key tool to activate a conversation on fundamental themes for social development and to stimulate change.
The company’s sustainable storytelling was amplified through the new official Furla Club House account that will host a range of discussions moderated by fashion icon Anna Dello Russo. The installation dedicated to Re-Candy was showcased to the public last Sept. 23 at Via Senato, 10 Milano.
Furla is available at Central Square BGC, City of Dreams, Greenbelt 5, Newport Mall, Power Plant Mall, Rustan’s, and at Trunc.ph.
