Good news for minimalist fashion fans! Global apparel retailer Uniqlo announces the launch +J Summer 2021 collection. This collaboration is the follow-up to the sensational Fall Winter 2020 capsule of flute-sleeved puffer jackets, multi-stripe shirts, and minimalist sweaters for men and women. Jil Sander marked a big fashion comeback in 2009 when she partnered with Uniqlo for a new brand of well-crafted fast fashion. Fall 2011 was the last season for +J until its surprise return last year.
The upcoming range is a celebration of a new beginning, saying goodbye to winter’s dark tones and greeting the warmer seasons ahead. The capsule is kept simple with items like Mandarin-collared shirts in different variations, including one with pleated details at the front. The shirts are paired with straight-legged trousers as well as jeans.
As for elevated styles, single-breasted jackets with matching pants are very much visible in the collection, while more wardrobe basics appear in the form of ribbed knit tops. Lightweight techno silk blends are the highlight of the women’s line of graphic half-sleeve dress, flared skirts, and summer parkas.
Fine tailoring distinguishes the men’s line with a hooded coat displaying a sculpted 3D volume, classic polo, and authentic selvedge denim jeans in a slim-straight silhouette.
The pieces are splashed in versatile black and white, as well as spring hues of pastel purple, caramel, khaki, and ivory which reflects the chromatic palette of the Northern lights.
