Pulling from the archives and celebrating their history, the Vans Needlework Anaheim Factory Collection throws it back to the mid-70s through the late 80s, when Vans Needlework shoes were a popular phenomenon of the company’s ability to create custom-made footwear for customers who brought in their fabrics. The collection returns with the reissue of original needlework styles inspired by a history of DIY customer designs.
Honoring the individualism and handicraft of Needlework art, the Needlework Anaheim Factory Authentic 44 DX uses a loose woven canvas similar to what you would find on a Needlework kit. Along with whimsical heritage screen prints, select embroidery, and a grid that encourages your custom embroidery skills to flourish, this classic low-top style uplifts the “We started, You Finished” concept so that you can create, have fun, and make this style entirely your own.
Delivering a three-piece footwear assortment inspired by these relics on Vans’ very first deck shoe which is the Authentic 44 DX, three prints are available which include a vintage-inspired floral, a skull, and a multi-color checkerboard pattern. The Authentic 44DX shoe showcases a natural woven textile upper which has been carefully printed to capture the essence of the original needlework designs. Each shoe is finished with a tonal marshmallow outsole and an OrthoLite sock liner. Alongside the kicks are matching apparel pieces including a beige chore jacket and short-sleeved tee that are marked with the same floral patterns as one of the shoes in the assortment.
The Anaheim Factory Needlework Collection is now available at select Vans stores nationwide. To know more, like @vansphmanila on Facebook and @vansphilippines on Instagram.
