Adidas launches Solarglide 5, Built for Everyday Running
Today, Adidas Running reveals the Adidas Solarglide 5. Tailored to the female form, the stable all-rounder, which has been designed with the planet in mind, provides runners with superb energy returns.
Built with the everyday running in mind, the Adidas Solarglide 5 is the latest addition to the brand’s popular Solarglide franchise. Designed to provide runners with the perfect fit, the shoe features a Bubble Boost midsole consisting of hundreds of Boost capsules which are fused and ready to explode with energy in each step. Working in tandem with an updated LEP, which fits between the Bubble Boost platform and the Control Platform, the shoe provides a smooth ride for runners.
The new Adidas Solarglide 5 features:
• Bubble Boost midsole. The Bubble Boost midsole consists of hundreds of Boost capsules which are fused together and ready to explode with energy in each step
• Control Platform. A full-top loaded EVA platform, designed for a smooth transition for runners
• LEP. An evolution of Adidas’ legendary torsion system, the updated LEP 2.0 fits between the Bubble Boost platform and the Control Platform and provides a smooth ride for runners
The Solarglide 5 is a testament to Adidas’ ongoing drive to create a diverse range of products for its running community, ensuring each athlete can select the most suitable shoe based on their individual needs. With a continued focus on the women’s running community, the Adidas Solarglide 5 features elements that were designed specifically with female runners in mind. During the development phase, the team behind the shoe conducted a variety of tests to ensure the silhouette provided the best possible fit for female runners.
The shoe is a testament to Adidas’ view that innovation can and should be used as a solution to help end plastic waste. Designed with the planet in mind, the Adidas Solarglide 5’s Primeblue knit upper is made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic. The product consists of yarn which contains at least 50% Parley Ocean Plastic—re-imagined plastic waste, intercepted on remote islands, beaches, coastal communities, and shorelines, preventing it from polluting our ocean. The other 50% of the yarn is recycled polyester.
Simon Lockett, Category Director Footwear, Adidas Running, said: “We’re constantly looking for ways to evolve and enhance the Solarglide franchise. Compared to previous Solarglide models, we’ve introduced several new features including an updated LEP and a Circular Knit upper—zoned for a more adaptive and comfortable fit. Ultimately, we’ve created a shoe designed to be the new front door favorites—a shoe bursting with energy and everyday stable guidance.“
