PLAYERTWO, Davao’s homegrown rising hiphop group that’s behind the viral That’s My Baby track, is bringing their fresh sound to Backstage Pass Channel on Viber.
With 1.3 million subscribers, Backstage Pass is a great platform for up-and-coming artists like PLAYERTWO to get discovered and reach more fans through chats. It allows talented acts to personally share their projects to a community of engaged and supportive music enthusiasts. Having hosted established performers like Lola Amour and Arthur Miguel, Backstage Pass has been the go-to spot for the hottest music updates in the country, where featured artists usually share never-before-seen photos, videos, and other content. The Viber Channel also holds exclusive Q&A with artists, allowing fans to get to know their new favorite local acts better.
PLAYERTWO is composed of three performing members and rapper-producers Ivo Impreso, Wave P, and Luke April who are bringing their own rap, house, and rock influences and musical strengths to create the band’s signature vibe. To create visual treats for their music, PLAYERTWO is joined by visual directors Ven Villariza and Puhken who serve as the group’s creative directors.
While the band has only started releasing music in 2022 with singles like Talk Straight and HDYF, it has achieved a massive hit with their third single That’s My Baby, which was just released in November last year. A song about how amazing a lover is, this viral success has already amassed at least 15.5 million streams on Spotify and almost 700,000 views on YouTube. This feat eventually earned them a record deal with Warner Music Philippines, which recently has a partnership with Viber’s Backstage Pass.
“The growing subscribers of Viber Backstage provides a compelling opportunity for artists to be discovered, and for fans to get to know them as people, not just musicians and performers,” says Vicky Malong, the Marketing and Audience Engagement Director at Warner Music Philippines. “OPM fans can expect more memorable moments to come with Warner Music Philippines artists.”
“We’re excited to embark on this exciting partnership with Warner Music Philippines and help rising Filipino artists like PLAYERTWO get the recognition they deserve by helping them create a closer connection with music fans,” states David Tse, Senior Director for APAC at Rakuten Viber. “Backstage Pass has been one of Viber’s successful Channels with highly engaged subscribers, so bringing in more artists like PLAYERTWO is important for us to better serve their interests and keep them entertained.”
With its latest successful Tiktiktokin single, a new release Thinking of Love that’s becoming a fave among fans during live performances, and more projects lined up, PLAYERTWO is a group that should be on every music lover’s radar.
