Slim & Elegant design
The OPPO A57 is a beautiful phone. It proudly flaunts the OPPO Glow Design, which gives it its subtle, glittery appearance, and makes it appear more expensive than it really is. OPPO A57 is available in Glowing Black and Glowing Green (though we prefer the black because it looks so chic).
OPPO didn’t scrimp on build quality either. The A57 is scratch-resistant and has been rigorously tested to pass many durability standards, including being IPX4 water-resistant (should withstand water splashes) and officially dust-resistant thanks to its IPX5 rating. This doesn’t mean, of course, that you should drop your phone to the ground every chance you get, but you can rest easy that your phone will stand a few hard knocks along the way.
It is also good to mention that the OPPO A57 is a perfectly-sized handset, big enough to watch movies or TikTok videos on, but small enough to keep in our pockets or purses.
Great Visual & Audio System
The OPPO A57 sports a 6.56-inch HD+LCD screen that covers 100% of DCI-P3 and 96% of NTSC, which means that it has a pretty color-rich panel. The model also comes with OPPO’s AI Eye Comfort software with “blue light reduction” technology to give you a more comfortable viewing experience, especially in low light. This Eye Comfort feature can be scheduled according to time, which makes it super convenient for you when you’re about to go to sleep.
Like the brand’s other smartphones, the OPPO A57 can switch to a monochrome display to make it more suitable for reading documents and websites. You can adjust the color temperature manually or you can toggle between the Vivid and Natural presets.
The phone’s visual display is paired with an amazing dual-speaker setup that you would expect from a device in this price range. OPPO A57 features a main speaker that produces relatively loud and clear audio and uses Dirac 3.0 to switch between different sound scenarios and apply the optimal tweaks to the sound. There are four sound modes to choose from, including Smart (default option), Movie, Game, and Music. There is also an Ultra Volume mode that increases the max volume but does add a little bit of distortion to the quality.
Long-Lasting, Fast-Charging Battery
The OPPO A57 has a 5,000Ah battery backup and delivers long usage times on a single charge. A full charge can comfortably provide you with two-and-a-half days of battery life when used primarily for everyday tasks.
Charging the smartphone doesn’t take a long time either. OPPO ships the new A57 with a USB-C pocket charger that takes full advantage of the company’s 33-watt SuperVOOC fast charging. You can easily gain a full charge in just an hour and a half, which is quite impressive, considering the A57 is an entry-grade model.
Great For Basic Pictures
OPPO has fitted the A57 with a dual-camera array on the back with a 13-megapixel main sensor and a secondary 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. This makes it great for shooting portrait-style pictures with a crisp subject against a blurred background. The 8-megapixel selfie camera is decent as well to take a selfie even in dim environments.
Still, the OPPO A57 does not feature the best camera settings and cannot handle super high-definition wide shots. This is completely forgivable, considering the modest pricing.
