Taipei, Taiwan – MSI has addressed recent reports of instability issues affecting Intel’s 13th and 14th-generation desktop processors. The company confirms they are working closely with Intel to investigate the problem and develop a solution.
While the exact cause remains under investigation, Intel has identified two potential contributing factors:
- Elevated operating voltage: Some processors are experiencing higher than recommended voltage levels, leading to instability.
- Microcode bug: An issue with Intel’s microcode algorithm might be causing incorrect voltage requests to the processor.
MSI is developing a BIOS update that incorporates a fix based on the new microcode Intel is releasing in mid-August. This update will be made available to MSI customers as soon as possible after the microcode release.
